Feeling Better Now

I can type now that my fingers have grown back ... they are still a little "raw" but working.  Billy had ambushed us by detonating a roadside bomb as we drove passed  him through a secluded location (We decided to drive to Rome and then to the airport).   The bomb was large enough to blow our car to pieces as well as our bodies.  The news reports said that terrorist targeted a group of Americans traveling through Italy, (us), but there was no identification to be found in the debris to tell who we were. Body parts that could be identified were brought to the morgue and placed in a hold over refrigeration unit (that's what Jago told us when we became aware, we were not exactly in a conscious state to know what was happening).
So --- Adam, Chester and myself were the ones blown to bits, leaving Jago and Tommy the responsibility of finding our remains and the clay jar containing the potion.  They did a great job of pulling it all together --- so here we are and here I am typing.  We reconstituted withing 72 hours and were up and about within five days time.
Eve --- if you are reading this, you know what to prepare for Billy.  We talked about it . . .he must be CONTAINED if we can't stop him permanently . . . .communicate in the usual way ... no one reads this blog, so it's safe.
I'll write more soon ...we need to sleep in one more day.

Sorry my Friends!!

Sorry --- we aren't back from Europe yet and the story is hanging on Part 4!
If you have been following our comments, Tommy has found and purchased a hoard of ancient coins that we have been looking for.  I am traveling to meet him in London and should arrive there Sunday (I have some stops to make).
In the meanwhile, catch up on the stories below and read our comments to keep up.  We like using social media as a way to communicate or as a back up to send information.  We are also on Twitter as @ancientscoin ---- the heading is "Joseph Ancient"
Be sure to visit: http://www.ancientscoin.com

The story will continue soon . . . we heard Billy was heading back to the States with some coins, too.  We'll have to track him down and deal with him.

Billy (The real story) Part Four

Billy laid shrouded in the mist, the exact same side-effect of the ‘medicine’ we had taken --- but Billy could not have touched a drop of the potion because it is always on my person --- I never leave it where it could be accidentally discovered --- it could devastate life as we know it on earth. (That’s a totally different story for the future).  Eve and I didn’t call the others to let them know of this strange occurrence … we had no idea how to explain it to our friends because of the fact that we all decided that we would get together and talk about someone’s fate if it we resolved to save them with the potion.  How did Billy come to be in this state?  She and I sat in chairs next to a bed where he lay.  One of our extra bedrooms would be his home for the next few days.

“Joseph. What do we do now? If he didn’t consume some of the potion, then how is he changing?”  Eve was filled with questions regarding our situation.  For the first time in a long while, she was shaken by the fact that someone was able to do this outside of our group --- without her making the decision to save them or change them.

“Billy was in my office where I kept at least 50 known meteor coins.  I left at least 3 of these out on the table when I went out, thinking I’d be back in an hour and they would be safe.  I am speculating that our boy Billy, was startled while looking at one of those coins and popped in his mouth to hide it.  He may have accidentally swallowed it since it was an AE4 and small in size, causing the reaction to the meteor residue to set in as it took over his body chemistry.  I can’t recall anywhere in history that a person put an ancient Roman coin in their mouth.”  I was amused thinking of collectors all over the world popping a Constantine I City Commemorative coin in their mouth for a quick taste. “I am missing one coin from the table.  I checked the floor and any place else it may have dropped.  I’m certain Billy must be digesting it as we speak.”

“Should we call the others?  He may be in this state for days and they are bound to sense something is going when they are here.” Eve was worried that they would think we acted without them.

“No, not yet.  Put them off for a day until we see how this all progresses. If Billy ate a coin, then I want to get it back to see if the residue was totally ingested.”

Eve made a face showing her revulsion, “You mean you’re going to pull it out of his waste?  Joseph --- we haven’t had to do anything that disgusting in over four-hundred years. I don’t want to even go near that!”

I laughed, “You really are turning into a girly-girl.  I’ll take care of things --- as always.”

We managed to put the group off for several days saying that I didn’t want to be disturbed due to a major venture I was working on. They remembered how irritated I would get when I was interrupted during a project and would go out of their way to avoid crossing paths with me until it was over.  In a way this is true…Billy has become a major project.

On the third day the mist cocoon began to dissipate so Eve made preparations to bath and feed him as soon as his skin was exposed to the air.  We managed to clean him up, dress him and serve him some food, all the while he was staring blankly into space, not saying a word.  Eve was wondering what his “crazy time” would be like and what we would do in this age of information with an immortal that goes temporarily insane from the change.  The next day after he came back to consciousness, he lay down and slept for 48 more hours.  On the morning of the third day we were awakened by the smell of eggs and sausage coming from the downstairs kitchen.   Billy was happily cooking breakfast for the three of us as he hummed a popular tune from the radio, smiling as he prepared the food.

“Good morning!” he greeted with great enthusiasm. “I am so happy I didn’t have to wake you both up.  I thought we would start our day off with a good nutritious breakfast and talk and go for a walk on this fine sunny morning.”

“Thank you for breakfast, Billy”, I said forcing a smile, “you didn’t have to go through all of this trouble.”

“No problem.” He replied smiling back.

“We do have to have a long talk over breakfast about some changes you are going to experience.  We also want to know how this came to be.”

“Mr. Ancient, Mrs. Ancient -- I feel wonderful.  I would be happy to talk, but right now I am famished.  The food is done – let’s take a seat and eat --- we’ll talk then.”

We moved to the large kitchen table in the corner (I don’t like morning sunlight in my eyes) and made ourselves comfortable enough to eat and discuss the obvious subject – Billy’s change.
“So what happened before I walked in on you in Joseph’s office?” Eve asked.

“I seem to remember looking around and I found a box of chocolates on Mr. Ancient’s desk.”  Billy began.

“You can call me Joseph, Billy”.  I interrupted for a moment.

“Okay Joseph-Billy . . .” he laughed. Still smiling at his own joke as he continued, “I panicked thinking these were special, so the one I took out of the box I quickly ate and swallowed when Mrs. Ancient --- I mean Eve --- came home and startled me.  I ran to the kitchen and must have slipped and hit my head.  That’s all I remember --- eating the chocolate and falling down.”

“Billy, that wasn’t a chocolate you ate and swallowed”, I said, “it was an ancient Roman coin.  It was one I had collected and was researching.  This one contained the residue from a primordial meteor and it exhibited special biological values to humans.  When you ingested it, it changed you.  You are like us now.  You are immortal and no matter how your body is ripped, or burned to ash, or shredded apart, you will reconstitute and come back just as you are --- forever.”

Eve added, “Do you understand?  We can teach you and show you things you never dreamed of.”

Billy continued to eat and smile at us.  He replied by saying, “Oh, okay.”

Thanks for your Patience

I want to thank all of our readers for bearing with us while we travel abroad to find Billy.  He apparently hacked into this blog and wrote part four of his story.  None of that happened.  He did swallow a coin and was transformed.  When we get back I will write the real account of what happened.  The coins in Germany turned out to be just ordinary ancient coins with sediment and corrosion on them.
We will continue to follow several leads to find Billy and return with what we hope will be good news.
Eve, if you're seeing this, we should arrive back home shortly --- please prepare our "guest room".  I am not coming back unless we have Billy.
RJ -- thanks in advance for keeping our affairs in order.

Billy (Part Four)

Everyone gathered at our house while Billy lay shrouded in the mist created from the meteor residue from one of the coins.  We all assumed that this was the case since he didn’t take any of the potion that I carried close on my person thousands of years.  The men pulled me aside to ask if he somehow lifted the jar from my secret pocket and took some.

“Joseph, how is this possible if not for the ‘medicine’?”  Chester asked.  “This is ridiculously strange!” he exclaimed with a frustrated gesture of his hands.

Tommy interjected, “Why would he swallow a coin?  I mean --- did he know about the potion or something?”

“I think he may have been watching us, but I don’t think he had a clue about how we came to be.”  I said.  “Let’s wait and see what happens when the mist dissipates. “

The women sat in the downstairs bedroom watching the mist change shapes and sometimes shimmer as it transformed Billy.  They stood over him like he was some sort of bird about to be hatched from an egg --- ready to see the world for the first time ---  it's a maternal need for these women to nurture the young or the helpless.  The group was silent in thought until Dani spoke.

“The coins should stay buried.”  She said. “This shouldn’t be happening. We should have just left it alone and let the powers go.   No one should be able to fly or breathe fire….”

“Or live forever?” Eve interrupted.

“No,” said Dani, “no one should live forever.  But we do and we try to make the world a better place for some.”

“Dani’s right,” said Neecie, “because of this we are questioning our own existence and if we should continue to hide from the world.  We’ve discussed this before, but until now there hasn’t been an outsider trespassing here.  How is it he is transforming into one of us?”

Lori was staring intensely into the mist while listening to the conversation.  Eve noticed her motioning for Mona to come close and have a look into the smoke-like substance. Lori pointed to the center of the mist and shook her head as Mona also examined Billy’s shroud more closely.  Eve turned and walked to where the other girls were standing --- Neecie  and Dani followed curiously to see what was going on.

“What is it?” Eve asked.

“I’m not sure.  Have you ever seen this before?” Lori asked turning their attention to the center of the mist.

“What?” Eve asked again.

Lori pointed and all of the women followed to the end of her finger.  “That!” she said.

In the center of the mist, the women found that Billy was aroused during this transformation.  “Is that an erection?” Mona asked in amazement.

“I think so.” said Eve.

“Have you ever seen this before?” Lori asked.

“No, not that I can recall.  This is new.” Eve answered. “Joseph, come here.” Eve called into the next room.

Joseph and the others hurried in.  Eve showed Joseph what was happening  through the mist as the men each took a turn to have a look.  They all were puzzled at the discovery because none of the men could recall this happening to them.  Tommy, Adam and Chester made remarks under their breath as they left the room while Jago and I remained with the women.

“Have you ever seen this?” Eve directed her question to me.

“No.” I said.  “I usually take note of things happening during the transformations.  This is new.”

Jago laughed.  “Not only does he get to be immortal, but he’s growing a third leg, too.”

We'll Be Back Soon

Sorry that we are taking so long in Europe.  We are on Billy's trail (you'll see why when I continue the story as to why we need to get him) and still haven't found any coins with meteor residue.  Billy may have been a one in a trillion fluke event . . .we have to contain him so he won't let his threat come true regarding us and the mortal humans.
Thank you for being patient ... Eve sends her love and if you have been reading all of the comments at the end of each blog, you'll see that we communicate through social media for fun --- to break our boredom.   Have fun watching us through this blog, Twitter, Facebook and our web store: http://www.ancientscoin.com

I'll send RJ the next part to "Billy" ASAP.

Thanks for reading,

Joseph

Billy (Part Three)

I had agreed to the quote that Billy sent and he started work the following week to modify our home network to my specifications.  Billy came into our lives at just the right time to infiltrate our group --- I was very busy with the coins project and Eve was distracted by her garden.  We were too busy to rewire the house ourselves, so we hired out --- right place, right time for Billy.

I hadn’t noticed how much time he was working in my home office because I expected him to be there. After a few days I trusted him to work alone in the house.  He didn’t get flirty with Eve, so I expected that he was thoroughly professional --- even when she walked through the house in her under garments, forgetting that we had a guest --- Billy politely turned his head and walked the opposite way.  These simple actions allowed me to trust him, and because of this trust we gave him the freedom of the house to do his work.

After putting on some clothes, Eve came to me with a question. “Joseph, I was wearing a see through lace bra and panties and he didn’t even do a double take.  Am I losing my appeal?”  She asked in a serious tone.

At first I thought she was joking, but realized no one has ever not looked at her when she entered a room, undressed or otherwise.  “I’m sure he saw you, but politely turned his head because he is working for us.  That’s refreshing in this age --- gallantry may not dead after all.”

Eve gave me a quick kiss to the lips and left to visit Lori and Tommy.  She was invited to over to help decorate their new home and Eve loved to design and decorate.  I could hear Billy alone in the next room, running fiber optic cable between floors (we have a 110 year old, 2 story house with the old rough cut timber boards between floors – that makes it a little difficult to run cable because of the wood’s density).  I went to him and told him I would be going on some errands, so he should feel free to continue his work and grab anything he would like out of our refrigerator for a snack or to quench his thirst.  I waved goodbye and went out the garage door and left Billy to himself.

The young man quickly took advantage of the empty house.  He darted into Joseph’s home office the minute he heard the door slam shut.  Billy opened drawers and looked through as much information as he could --- almost as if he were competing in a game show to win prizes.  He neatly tucked files and objects back in their place and moved to the next area.  He came to a table with a microscope, some complicated looking devices and chemicals.  In the middle of all of this was a pile of about one-hundred ancient roman coins and a notebook with scribbles and annotations going every which way on the pages --- some were in English and other paragraphs were in what looked to be Latin and possibly Greek.  He sat down in the chair, careful not to move it from the position Joseph had last left it.  He found one page that had English paragraphs -- it said something about a meteor crashing to earth many years ago, and  it went on to describe the meteor as being alive.  A few pages later, Joseph wrote that the residue on the ancient coins had a similar “living” molecular structure that when touched could give the holder extraordinary power if they were changed by the first meteor mentioned.  Billy sat up from the book and stared at nothing for a moment, then laughed to himself --- he thought of how weird this all was sounding.  He looked down and took one of the coins from the pile that had a residue of red, green and black coated on its back and front.

“Is this one of the coins?” he wondered aloud to himself.

He absentmindedly made his way to a window in the next room to hold the coin up to the sunlight to get a better look.  As he relaxed in his thoughts and looked keenly into the coin, a door slammed open and in walked Eve.  Shocked by the unexpected sound, he quietly, but quickly walked through the far door and headed to the kitchen.  Eve was about to walk in when he went to throw the coin into his pocket and immediately realized his pants had no pockets.  One split second before she walked in the room, he threw the coin in his mouth and swallowed.  He didn’t want to get caught this early in the game --- he wanted to find out everything about these people --- so he hid the coin in the best place he could think of at the moment . . . .

“Hi Billy, how is the cable coming?” Eve said with a smile as she looked through today’s mail.

“It’s going really well, Mrs. Ancient.” He said politely. “Should be finished in about ten more days.”

“If you call me Mrs. Ancient again, I’ll kick you.” She said joking with him. “Call me Eve.”

“Okay Eve.” He replied.  “I think I’m going to . . . .”  Just then he noticed his hands begin to shake.  He felt his throat begin to swell with water, like he was taking a drink and had to keep gulping.

Eve looked up and saw what was happening.  She knew what was going on – this is just like the change from Joseph’s potion.  She ran over and caught Billy before he stumbled and fell forward.  She laid him down as he passed out and a film of moisture began to envelop his entire body.  She started ripping off his clothes to allow the process to have room to create the mist just as Joseph walked in.

“What the hell is happening here, Joseph?” Eve asked. “How did Billy get the potion?”

I began to rip at his clothes with Eve and looked at him with astonishment --- I have the potion with me.  I never leave it anywhere but on my person.  “I don’t know how this is happening, but we need to call the others and let them know there may be someone new in the family.”

Billy (Part two)

Billy was growing tired of watching his neighbor’s bizarre group of friends (or family?) from afar, and concocted a plan to get closer.  These people seemed technologically astute, so Billy thought that offering his services as an electrician and home network installer would get their attention. He printed out a hundred flyers and circulated some to about 20 houses around the block. He paid two twelve year old kids twenty-dollars to put them in mailboxes and in doorways, and then he had them repeat this three times over two weeks. He wanted to make sure someone in the household looked at one of cheap promo’s he was offering, hoping he would get a call.

Two weeks went by and several neighbors called inquiring about his service, but Billy put them off by saying their setup would be a thousand dollars more than he was offering in the promo because of wiring.  After two more weeks of waiting, Billy decided to help matters along by calling on the Ancient’s regarding his services.  He knew they must have received at least three flyers with his name and phone number enclosed, and he could prove he was a legitimate technician due to his certifications (if they asked for them).   He worked up the nerve to walk down to their house, knock on their door and introduce himself.  Eve answered the door and Billy tried as hard as he could not to stare at her or work his eyes downward to her breast and legs.  He had never seen someone so beautiful and sensual in his life.  Even in jeans and a tee shirt she appeared to be flawless and had a certain command about her, as if she were someone to worship.

“May I help you?” she asked with the partially opened door chained from the inside.

“Yes ma’am,” he answered politely, “I’m a neighbor from across the way and I sent out some fliers to the neighborhood --- now I am following up on those.” He smiled with a charming grin at the end of his introduction.

“Oh, are you the one that works on the home networks?” Eve asked

“Yes, that’s me. I . . . .”

Eve interrupted, “Hold on,” she said as she unchained the door, “Joseph, that guy that does the home network stuff is here.” She called out to Billy’s surprise. He wondered if they could read minds, too.

Eve lead Billy to Joseph’s home office.  Billy looked over everything he passed with laser like attention, remembering as many things as he could as he passed them.  He wanted to save any bit of information he could for analysis later.  He was taken directly to Joseph’s home office and introduced by Eve.

“So”, Joseph said, “you’re timing is excellent.  I don’t have time myself to hook up what I want so I think I will rely on you.  What’s your name, again?” he asked extending his hand to shake.

“Billy, Billy Hollander.” He said as he took Joseph's hand. “What do you need?”  Billy asked as he sat in a chair in front of Joseph’s desk.

While Joseph was explaining how he wanted his network to work, Billy’s eyes shifted back and forth looking for information on the desk, on the book shelves and every within "eye-shot" -- trying to learn more about the Ancients.  His eyes moved to a table sitting to the left of Joseph’s desk.  There was a microscopic device in the center of the table surrounded by hundreds of old coins … ancient coins.  He wondered what all that was about and made certain to remember what he saw.

“So that’s what I need, Mr. Hollander.”

“Call me Billy.” The younger man said. “No problem, Mr. Ancient.  I will get an estimate together and bring it by tomorrow afternoon.

“Please.  We’re neighbors, call me Joseph.”

Billy smiled and got up from the chair and Joseph walked him back to the front door.  They exchanged a farewell and Billy headed back to his house, barely containing the excitement he was feeling.  At last he could find out first hand what was going on in the Ancient’s household.
